ANZAC Day 2019

anzacday.jpg

On Tuesday 7th May the College stopped to pay our collective respects to the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our country.  The service was the culmination of several weeks of planning and a fortnight of “Respect Matters”. The boys also made poppies in House Group to wear to the service. The significance of the poppy is that it was among the first living plants that sprouted from the battlefields of Northern France and Belgium after the war.

Special thanks to Ms O’Brien and the HSIE Faculty for their work in putting together both the program and the accompanying service and to members of the Student Council for running Tuesday’s service.

During the holidays a number of students also represented the College at dawn services. Special thanks to Rafael Gunawan, George Jamhour and Brendan Grouse for handing out programs from 4:30am at the Coogee Service and laying a wreath on behalf of the College and to Jayden Lee and Hossion Ali for laying a wreath at the Maroubra Junction Service.
