College Advisory Board

The Hon. Matt Thistlethwaite MP

Appointed to the College Advisory Board in 2014, Matt is an Old Boy of the College and former College Captain (Class of 1990). 

Matt attended the University of NSW where he studied Economics and Law before starting a career in law. Matt is currently the Federal Member for Kingsford Smith, Shadow Assistant Minister for Treasury and Deputy Chair of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics. economics before going on to become a lawyer.

Matt lives locally with his wife Rachel and their four daughters.


Mrs Vicki Johnston

Appointed to the College Advisory Board in 2014, Vicki has long been an advocate of the College with her son attending the College (Class of 2013).  During this time, Vicki held a number of positions on the Parents and Friends Committee and spoke regularly at a range of parent events.

A Domestic Violence Specialist and Counsellor, Vicki is a passionate advocate for the safety of women and children, and has made significant contributions in this area in the fields of legislative change, policy and professional development, both in Australia and internationally. Vicki is the manager of a Sydney based domestic violence family support service. She has received several awards for her work, including being named the Heffron Woman of the Year and one of 10 Finalists for the NSW Woman of the Year Award in 2011 and Maroubra Woman of the Year in 2017.

Vicki is also a keen volunteer at Holy Family Church where she contributes to the choir and special events.


Father John Hayes

Appointed to the College Advisory Board in 2014, Fr John is an integral member of the College Community through his ministry for the families of the College.

Fr John has an extensive missionary background, training for six years in a seminary in India where he continued to work for a further 3 years after his ordination. Originating from Emerald in Queensland, Fr John returned to Australia to serve the Cathedral and Inner City Parishes of Brisbane in the early 200’s before moving to Sydney in 2004 to take up the role of Vicar-Rector of the Missionary Diocesan Seminary in Pagewood.  He has been the Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Annunciation since 2006 and Holy Family Maroubra since 2013 and he also currently serves as the Dean of the Eastern Deanery of the Archdiocese of Sydney.


Mr Michael Daley

Appointed to the College Advisory Board in 2014, Michael has always been a strong advocate of Catholic Education in the region having attended local Catholic schools during his schooling.

Michael holds Diploma of Law from the Barristers' and Solicitors' Admission Board and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales as a legal practitioner in 1998. Michael has been the Member for Maroubra since 2005 and has served in government as Minister for Police (2009-2011), Minister for Finance (2009-2011), and Minister for Roads (2008-2009).  Michael is currently Leader of the Opposition and has previously held positions including Shadow Minister for Planning and Infrastructure (2016-2018), Shadow Minister for Gaming and Racing (2016-2018), Manager of Opposition Business (2011-2018), Shadow Treasurer (2011-2016), Shadow Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight (2014-2015), as well as Shadow Minister for Police and Emergency Services (2014), and Shadow Minister for Finance and Services (2011-2014).

Michael lives locally in Chifley with his wife Christina and four children.


Mrs Rosemary Ayoub

Appointed to the College Advisory Board in 2014, Rosemary has a strong connection to the College with both of her sons currently in attendance. Rosemary holds a Bachelor of Education Early Childhood, a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and a Masters of Education. She has worked in many aspects of education both in the public and private sector.

Rosemary currently works at TAFE NSW Randwick College. She has been involved in the TAFE delivered VET courses for 13 years. She is also an Academic staff member on the Bachelor of Education course.


 

Mr Fawzi Jreige

Appointed to the College Advisory Board in 2018, Fawzi is a strong advocate of the College in the local community with his son currently enrolled in Year 10 at the College. 

Fawzi Jreige is a qualified mortgage specialist who has 20 years experience in the Mortgage and Banking Industry and is an accredited member of the MFAA. He specializes in residential mortgage finance and has recently also become a qualified Real Estate Agent.
