Champagnat Catholic College Pagewood has a strong indigenous heritage and affiliation with a number of students representing Aboriginal nations including Wiradjuri, Bundjalung and Gamiloroi, as well as other saltwater and freshwater peoples. These students are well supported with an Indigenous Education Office at the College, as well as opportunities to connect and network with a range of programs and initiatives to help close the gap.
Our indigenous students take part in the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME), work closely with the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE), take formal dance lessons with the SCS CaSPA Team, and are mentored by the Goodjarga group at the various Sydney universities. QANTAS also sponsor a range of School-Based Apprenticeships across a number of their business areas for indigenous students from Champagnat Catholic College Pagewood. The College takes seriously its commitment to National Sorry Day, Reconciliation as a means of peace for all peoples, Close the Gap education, and ensuring our indigenous students take pride in their heritage as Australia's First Peoples.
