Consistency within and across classrooms is required in a busy and vibrant school. At Champagnat Catholic College the Pagewood Pedagogy has been developed to focus on key aspects of effective learning across the College. Students are asked to take an active part in their learning by being aware of the learning intentions of each and every lesson, the literacy focus for each and every lesson, and the assessment of success in each and every lesson. Working with Andrew Martin, UNSW, the staff have developed stronger Target-Setting models as part of the Individual Career Pathway for each student. The use of critical feedback, feed-forward and feed-up questions by students to assist their learning further strengthens the Pagewood Pedagogy, student responsibility and learning self-efficacy.
